Mangaluru : With great zeal and enthusiasm ICYM Episcopal City Deanery (ECD) organized “ECD Youth Melange” a half day youth gathering programme on 29 July 2018 at St Vincent Ferrer Church Conference Hall. The programme commenced with a prayer song led by the youth choir. Chief Guest and ECD Vicar Forane Rev Fr J B Crasta; president of the programme Rev Fr James DSouza, Parish Priest, St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia; Rev Fr Clifford Fernandes, Director ICYM ECD; Jaison Leroy Periera Shirthady, President ICYM Mangalore Diocese; Adrian Dsouza Manjeshwar, Diocesan Nominated Member for ICYM ECD; Viyolla Dsilva Jeppu, President and Vishma Dcunha Cascia, Secretary, ICYM ECD were present on the dais.

“ECD Youth Melange” was inaugurated in a innovative way by Rev Fr J B Crasta along with Rev Fr James DSouza and other dignitaries on the dais. Fr Crasta in his message appreciated all the youth and encouraged them to take active part in the Deanery activities and wished great success for the event.

Fr James Dsouza and Fr Clifford Fernandes in their address encouraged the youth to have a positive thought in all that they do and wished a great success for the event. ICYM ECD executive members of the year 2017-2018 as well executive and council members of the year 2018–2019 were honoured during the event. ICYM Diocesan Treasurer Jovel Fernandes Naravi and Elroy Patrick Saldanha Omzoor, Immediate Past President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese were also present for the inaugural programme.

Jaison Leroy Periera, Jovel Fernandes, Elroy Patrick Saldanha and Minol conducted the ice breaker session followed by innovative games and activities. Fr Rajesh Melvin gave an inspirational talk on ‘Family and Stress Management’. The Holy Eucharist for the youth was celebrated by Fr Rajesh Melvin.

Fr Ronald Prakash DSouza Ajekar, Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese also was present for a brief time and wished all the very best for the year 2018–2019. ICYM Unit Directors and Animators of ECD parishes also paid a visit to the programme. ICYM Valencia Unit bagged “ECD Youth Melange” trophy for the maximum number of participants from their unit. A total of 100 youth were present for the programme. Viyolla DSilva welcomed the gathering. Vishma DCunha read out the annual report of the year 2017–2018 as announced the annual plans for the year 2018–2019. Host President Relston Lobo Valencia proposed the vote of thanks. Leon Loyd Saldanha compered the programme. The programme concluded with a sumptuous meal.
