Bengaluru: Teachers engaged in political activities and having close affiliation with political outfits may be denied of certain provisions and transferred to distant places, cautioned Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait.

The state education department is preparing a list of teachers actively involved in politics and backing organisations like RSS, ABVP and others.

Based on the findings, they may be deprived of duties during polls and transferred to distant places.

“Teachers engaging in political activities goes against Karnataka Civil Service rules. Such teachers will be identified and a close tab will be kept on their movement,” said Tanveer Sait and advised them to stay away from politics and focus on teaching.
