Bengaluru: Residents having a very bad time in the hot summer finally had respite after several parts in the state received light rain on Tuesday.

Kalaburagi and the surrounding areas had moderate showers for about half an hour which bought down the mercury level.

Haveri received showers along with hailstones for a short period of time.

While Dharwad and Savanur had light drizzle, Ranebennur, Hangal, Byadagi, Shiggaon and Hirekeruru witnessed dark clouds, but no rain. Hubbali too experienced the same.

Alnavar in Uttara Kannada district received light showers for about 20 minutes.

Kalasa in Chikkamagaluru district also received rains with thunder and winds. It was some relief for the residents after facing oppressive heat for a couple of months.
