Bangalore: Following the cues from the price hikes of essential commodities, petrol and milk, now it’s the turn of packaged drinking water that will come into effect from Septembe 23.
The Packaged Drinking Water Manufacturers Association has taken the decision to hike the rate of Rupee one per liter during the extraordinary general body meeting held here recently.
Addressing the media persons, the Association president Prashant Aradhya said that the prices of packaged drinking water have not been hiked since the past 2 years. At the backdrop of hike in prices of bottles, labels, caps, corrugated boxes, masking tapes, petroleum products, transportation costs, they were forced to hike the prices of packaged drinking water without a choice, said Prashant.
Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalita is providing one litre of bottle water @ Rs 10, while the people in Karnataka had to shell out more money for packaged drinking water.
