Bengaluru: With the state government allowing home isolation for the Covid-19 patients, the demand for the beds in government and private hospitals is coming down in the city drastically.
According to the latest data, over 6,000 Covid-19 beds in government and private hospitals are now empty.
“As many as 13,337 beds in government and private hospitals were earmarked for the Covid-19 patients. Now, 6,060 beds are empty,” said sources in the health department.
“With the general nursing homes also starting treatment for the Covid-19 patients, the pressure is coming down drastically,” explained officials from the department.
Meanwhile, the state government is likely to start the full-fledged health services in all the government hospitals across the state with a fewer number of Covid-19 admissions. As majority of government hospitals have been converted into Covid-19 hospitals, other patients were affected a lot.
