Bengaluru: Senior Congress leaders Oscar Fernandes and Jairam Ramesh filed nominations for the Rajya Sabha on Monday, but both of the leaders created confusion for a while due to their absent mindedness.

While filing his nomination for Karnataka Rajya Sabha, Fernandes filed his nomination for Legislative Assembly, which created confusion for some time. However, Minister for Tourism R V Deshpande corrected the error.

As per rules, the candidate must specify whether he is filing nomination to the Rajya Sabha or the Vidhan Sabha. While doing this, Fernandes said that he was filing nomination for Vidhana Sabha or Legislative Assembly, only to be corrected by Deshpande.

Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh, who has always represented Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh, this time, filed his nomination to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.

However, while filing the nomination, Ramesh forgot to get his picture due to which his procedure of filing nomination halted for a while.

He later clicked the photo in the premises of Assembly Secretary’s office and submitted the nomination.
