Bengaluru: There were no confusions or rumours on the first day of the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to various professional courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) and a good number of students turned up for the examination.
The examinations were held in 431 centers across the state.
According to the KEA authorities, a total of 1.94 lakh students applied for the CET examinations. Among them, on day one, 75.90% of students appeared for the biology examination while 91.72% of the students appeared for the mathematics examination.
According to sources, the number of students who appeared for the biology and mathematics examinations this year has come down by 1.34% and 4.32% respectively, when compared to the 2018 examinations. “This may be because the students who failed or did poorly in the II PUC final examination decided against writing the examination,” said sources in the KEA.
According to the students, the biology examination was easy while the mathematics examination was quite tough.
The CET chemistry and physics examinations will be held today.
