No clear majority, Congress ready for alliance with JD(S)

Bengaluru: KPCC president G Parameshwara, on Tuesday after ZP/TP election results said that the Congress party was ready to form an alliance with the JD(S) after no party could secure clear majority in 11 out of the 30 Zilla panchayats and several Taluk panchayats in the state.

Karnataka assures safety of Africans living in Bengaluru -1Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would soon hold a meeting to deicide on joining hands with other parties.

“The final decision to form an alliance with the JD(S) will be left to the local leaders. The respective district in-charge ministers, party legislators and senior leaders will take a decision after looking into the pros and cons of an alliance,” Parameshwar said.

In the ZP, TP polls none of the three major political parties has been able to get a clear majority in 11 ZPs.

Reacting on poor show by the Congress party in his home district, Parameshwara said that the party should have done better there.

The JD(S) party leaders, JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda and State president H D Kumaraswamy are yet to take a decision on the Congress offer for an alliance.
