Bengaluru: Even 50 days after the bomb blast that killed a woman on Church Street on December 28, 2014, the Bengaluru police have failed to arrest those responsible, but the commissioner, M N Reddi, insists the investigation is moving into the “right direction”.

“The Church Street blast case investigation is going on in the right direction. Our teams are investigating the case based on the available evidence. The investigation carried out so far points to two terror organisations,” Reddi said on Monday but refused to name them or give any more details.

They are still analysing bomb blasts across the country to decipher the Church Street mystery.

“There are many similarities between the Church Street blast and some terror incidents that occurred in parts of south India and Delhi. But we are yet to get credible evidence to link the four men arrested on suspicion of being IM members with the Church Street blast. It’s almost certain that those who planted the bomb are not from Karnataka,” he said.

According to the commissioner, he is himself monitoring the progress of the case considering its sensitivity. “The same team that began the investigation is handling the case. We are meeting every week and are confident of taking the investigation to its logical end,” Reddi said.
