Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddramaiah who has been famous for implementing various public friendly ‘Bhagyas’ in the State, himself became a recipient of the ‘Mutthu Bhagya’ (kiss bhagya). In an unexpected incident, the Chief Minister received a kiss from a fan, a lady, when he was in the city to attend a programme honouring representatives of Kuruba community at Palace grounds.
The guests gathered on the occasion were shell-shocked as they just witnessed something unexpected. The CM remained unnerved when the lady after posing for picture, planted a peck on his cheek and then quietly disappeared from the stage.
The CM assumed that the lady wanted to convey something, but never expected her to pull him closer and kiss him.
The unexpected incident had an effect on his behaviour throughout the programme. He looked shocked for a while. The gathering burst into laughter when they saw him touching his cheek.
It is learnt that the woman identified as Girija Shrinivas is a member of Amrithapura taluk panchayath in Tarikere. Speaking to a news portal, she said that there was no other person in their community who had reached such great heights and she kissed him out of that proud feeling.
“I grew up in the Varuna constituency and got married and settled in Tarikere. I hail from a remote village and I am grateful that I was given an opportunity to serve in the party. CM Siddaramaiah is a fatherly figure to me and I kissed him as his own daughter,” she added.
