Bangalore: The list of five candidates to fill the nominated seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council was submitted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to the State Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj, which has now been cleared.

Though the official announcement regarding the approval of the names submitted by the Chief Minister is yet to be received from Raj Bhavan, informed sources said the Governor has cleared the list.

According to sources, the five persons whose names figure in the list of nominated MLC’s are KPCC General Secretary from  Dakshina Kannada,  Ivan D’Souza, V S Ugrappa, Iqbal Ahamed Sardagi, Abdul Jabbar and Jayamala.

Reportedly the Chief Minister’s secretariat, the Governor has given approval to the list and an official announcement of the names is likely to be made on Wednesday June 25.

The Chief Minister was advised by some party leaders and Ministers to present the list to Bhardwaj before his tenure comes to an end on June 29.
