Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA V Somanna has questioned the party leaders, here on Wednesday, March 27, on what basis was the BJP Yuva Morcha leader Tejasvi Surya given the ticket to contest from Bengaluru South Constituency and not union minister Late Ananth Kumar’s wife Tejasvini Ananth Kumar.

After a meeting in Ananth Kumar’s residence with Tejasvini, he addressed the media and said, “It is a blunder that the ticket that was supposed to be given to Tejasvini, is given to Tejasvi, against all expectations. The party leaders must give a clarification on this and until they give one, I will not participate in any rally.”

He accused BJP MLA Ravi Subramanya of Basavangudi Assembly constituency of being responsible for decision making.

Somanna said that he had asked Ravi what was the reason behind Tejasvini not getting the ticket.

He said that a clarification on this decision is expected within next three days in the BJP leaders’ meeting.

Meanwhile, BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa has said, “There are no confusions in Tejasvi Surya getting the ticket and questions on selection of the candidate. Tejasvini herself has accepted the decision of the party high command.”

He gave a call to all the BJP partyworkers and leaders to work together in ensuring the victory of the chosen candidates.
