According to sources, George was asked by the Chief Minister to resign in order to maintain a clean image for the state government. Meanwhile, George said, “I have no role in DySP Ganapathy’s suicide and I am confident of getting a clean chit in the case.”

The CM has also asked IGP Pronab Mohanty and ADGP A M Prasad to go on compulsory leave and join duty after getting cleared of all charges in the case.

DySP M K Ganapathi in an interview to a news channel, hours before his death on July 7, blamed George, Mohanty and Prasad, foreseeing danger to his life.
