Bangalore :State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has directed health officials to take precautionary measures against spread of diseases like chikungunya and dengue during summer.
Speaking to reporters here, the minister said district level nodal officers have been appointed. They will conduct a progress review meet with officials every week, he informed.
Khader further said the officials have been asked to take stern measures to prevent people from consuming contaminated water which creates health problems.
If contagious diseases affect any area, then the place should be declared sensitive area and health camps conducted. Officials will also have to keep sufficient stock of medicines, he added.
