Mass fish death: BBMP uses de-polluting agents in Ulsoor lake

Bengaluru: A day after large number of fish was found dead on the banks of Ulsoor lake, the BBMP officials have sprung into action mode.
Thousands of dead fish float on Ulsoor Lake; reason unclear-1On Tuesday, the BBMP resorted to using de-polluting agents as remedial action to stop further death of fish.

As per sources, over 70 boxes of chemicals, which runs into several kilograms of de-pollutants were used by the officials.

The Ulsoor lake issue has grabbed the attention of Union Minister for Environment, Prakash Javadkar, who has sought a detailed report on the issue from Lake Monitoring Committee, State Government and Municipal corporation.

Meanwhile, officials of the Special Lake Monitoring Force and the BBMP are awaiting the forensic report on the issue which is believed to shed light on the authentic cause of mass death of fish.
