Bengaluru: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, more than 30 mango-growing farmers from Karnataka will be flying to China and Indonesia as part of an education tour conducted by Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation (KSMDMC) in August.

KSMDMC Chairperson, Kamalakshi Rajanna said that the farmers registered with their corporation will be selected for the eight-day education tour where 33 farmers will be visiting processing units in China and Indonesia. She also informed that the cost of the entire tour will be sponsored by KSMDMC.
“We have selected one farmer from each district and two each from Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Ramanagaram districts. Thirty-three farmers along with officials and experts will visit China and Indonesia during the first week of August,” she said.
Rajanna further said that China and Indonesia’s processing and packing methods are far more superior. We want to learn those advanced techniques, she said.
