Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was appointed as the Karnataka unit president by BJP on Friday.

A prominent lingayat face, Yeddyurappa was forced to resign as chief minister over graft allegations and quit the party. He formed his own part later.
The newly-appointed Yeddyurappa stated that his main task would be to uproot the corrupt Congress regime from the state.
Addressing mediapersons in New Delhi, Yeddyurappa thanked National BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him the responsibility.
“My task as the chief will be to throw out the corrupt Congress rule in Karnataka,” he said.
