Lucky Ali escapes bid on his life

Bengaluru: On Sunday night, while singer Lucky Ali, son iconic bollywood comedian of yester years, was performing at a concert in Delhi, men armed with machetes and  swords descended on his farmhouse near Yelahanka in Bengaluru.

Luckily, the watchman of Ali’s farmhouse located near Yelahanka, noticed a group of people behaving suspiciously and informed the police who arrived on the scene and arrested eight people armed with weapons.

According to the arrested, they were hired by persons identified as Munna and Asif Ali to stage an attack on Ali.

The motives are as yet unknown, but he is  entangled in a legal dispute over a large property developed by his late father, Mehmood.

Police are currently on the lookout for Asif Ali and Munna.

“Two of the arrested have been identified as Harish, a rowdy sheeter, and Naveen. Police found the group armed with swords and machetes. The police are currently questioning them. A case of attempt to dacoity has been registered against the group,” DCP in-charge of north-east division T R Suresh said.

Ali subsequently met the police top brass and briefed them on alleged threats to his life

He urged them to act against those alleged to have grabbed his father’s property illegally. “They want to stop me from pursuing the legal battle ,” Ali is learned to have told the police.
