Bengaluru: The state excise department has decided to allow the wine shops to function till 9 pm. All these days the wine stores were allowed only till 7 pm.

According to the sources, this decision has been taken as per lockdown 5.0 norms.

The wine stores can open at 9 am and only parcel is allowed. No one is allowed to consume liquor in the premises of the wine stores.

According to the new notification, microbrewaries are allowed to function and they can deliver upto 2 liters of beer to the customers.

The new rules are notified with the aim of increasing government revenue as the Excise is one of the key revenue source for the government.
