KSRTC employees to call back stir by evening?

Bengaluru: The Managing Directors of all the four divisions of the state transport have instructed the trainee drivers and conductors to return to work immediately. According to sources, under the oral instruction of ministry and Secretariat level officers have been asked to report to duty and resume services at the earliest.

Meanwhile, long distance services, especially interstate routes will be resumed by 5 pm as per directions on Tuesday, sources said. However, almost 20 percent of the drivers and conductors have reported to duty in several depots especially in Hyderabad Karnataka and Mumbai Karnataka region.

The final decision on imposing ESMA might be out after the cabinet meeting convened at 4 pm today.

In between, Minister of Transport Ramalinga Reddy is likely to hold another round of talks with the agitating employees before the cabinet meeting and try to convince them to accept the government’s offer.

Meanwhile, pro-labours’ organizations CITU and others have joined hands with agitating employees of state transport department and urged them not to yield down to government’s offer.

The denouement of the scenario is awaited.
