Bengaluru: The state-run KSRTC and BMTC will soon submit revised fare revision proposal to the state government. It can be recalled that in the month of August, the state government had struck down the proposal of increasing the fare by 18% by these corporations.

Speaking to the reporters, Transport minister DC Thammanna informed that due to the increase in the diesel prices and the salary and other perks of the staff, the KSRTC and BMTC are incurring huge losses. “Keeping in mind the interest of the commuters and the financial health of the corporations, this fare revision proposal will be submitted,” he said.

“Due to the variations in the diesel price, the corporations have incurred a loss of Rs.677 crores. So fare revision is must and unavoidable,” he said.
