Bengaluru: Giving a much needed respite to commuters, some of the BMTC buses started rolling on the roads on Tuesday afternoon, July 26.
Two BMTC buses resumed services on Chandapura and Jalahalli cross routes, BMTC sources said.
This move came soon after the news of suspension of five employees from the KSRTC in Chikkamagaluru went viral among the workers.
Though the buses ran almost empty, the gesture gave a sigh of relief to the commuters. This signaled the start of end of strike by the employees of the transport department.
On the other hand, it is not yet sure that the services relied on trainee drivers and conductors or not.
According to some sources, KSRTC depots from Mysuru, Dharwad and Maddur began their services. Drivers and conductors were reporting to work one after the other in a gradual manner.
Meanwhile, the official announcement is yet come from the transport employee union as well as from the government.
