Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will induct Vijayanagar MLA M Krishnappa into the ministry on Monday, September 5. Animal Husbandry Minister A Manju and Mines and Geology Minister Vinay Kulkarni too are likely to get promoted to cabinet rank from the rank of minister of state.

It is said that Siddaramaiah is inducting Krishnappa to fill the Vokkaliga slot in the ministry which fell vacant after M H Ambareesh was dropped in the cabinet reshuffle in June. One of the two vacant positions in Siddaramaiah’s ministry is being offered to Krishnappa, while the other one will be offered to former minister KJ George if he comes clean from the CID probe into the DySP Ganapathi suicide case.

According to an official statement, the swearing-in ceremony would be held at 4.30 pm at Raj Bhavan Glass House on Monday. Krishnappa will most likely receive the Housing portfolio, previously held by Ambareesh.
