Kolar : “BJP leaders are often referring to the Gujarat model of development during election campaigning. Does they mean to say that no other state in the nation has developed?” questioned Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Addressing an election rally of the Congress at Kolar on April 9, Wednesday, Sonia said Congress strongly believes in the principle of secularism and has been  following a secular policy. “But the BJP does not believe in any secular ideology and it is owing to this that minorities have no protection in Gujarat,” Sonia launched a  scathing attack on the BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi.

KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara, Congress candidate from Kolar KH Muniappa and several party leaders were present.

Though the convention was scheduled to begin at 11 am, it was postponed as not enough people had converged.  The party was expecting a footfall of around one lakh people but only a few thousands of people attended the Sonia rally.
