Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be in New Delhi today and he is expected to meet Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi either tonight or on Friday morning to discuss over the cabinet rejig.
Meanwhile, many say that Sonia Gandhi is expected to leave India on Thursday evening for about two months as she is going on a foreign visit. If the CM misses the meeting with Gandhi, then the rejig will not take place for another two months.
If everything falls in place, then the CM is expected to go in for the reshuffle by June 20.
However, even before CM could reach New Delhi, a set of veterans from the party and a set of young aspirants have all congregated to national capital to try their luck.
With the possibilities of eight to 12 ministers losing the ministerial berth and with the CM stating that he wanted new faces in the cabinet, several new faces are already in Delhi lobbying for a berth.
H M Revanna, P M Narendraswamy, Priyank Kharge, Eshwar Khandre, Dr Ajay Singh, P S Shivalli, P M Ashok, Malakareddy, K B Kolivada, G T Patil are in Delhi trying to impact the high command.
H M Revanna is said to have met Sonia Gandhi on Thursday morning and urged to give representation to Kuruba community in the rejig.
However, not just that, it is also said that Congress veterans like Mallikarjuna Kharge, Oscar Fernandes, Jairam Ramesh, K H Muniyappa and others are working an extra bit to make sure their people are not axed from the cabinet and their candidates get vacated berths as well. C P Yogeshwar, R B Thimmapura, Motamma, M R Seetharam, Basavaraja Rayareddy, K C Kondaiah are some of the senior faces spotted in Delhi.
With CM keen on having young faces, names of Priyanka Kharge, Dr K Sudhakar, Rajashekar Patil, Eshwar Khandre, Santhosh Lad, Harris, Tanveer Sait is making rounds.
Among seniors Kagodu Thimmappa, Malikaiah Guthedar, H M Revanna, H Y Meti, C S Shivalli, M Krishnappa, Malaka Reddy, Basavaraja Reddy, Ramesh Kumar are expected to get upper hand.
It is said that Kharge is showing keen interest in the rejig this time because he wants a berth for his son Priyank Kharge and his close friend Kagodu Thimmappa.
