Benagluru: CM Siddaramaiah presents his 12th Budget in state assembly

Highlights of the budget:

• Government successful in making Bengaluru a model city

• Peace and prosperity have been thriving in the state under our government

• Focus on gender quality will be the highlight of #KarnatakaBudget2017

• Industrial growth expected at 2.2% against last year’s 4.9%

• Service sector sees a decrease of 8.5% against last year’s 4%

• 1.5% growth in agriculture sector expected

• Government to open 198 Namma canteens in B’luru

• 25 lakh farmers to get 13500 crore farm loans

• Mekedatu dam project to be implemented by government

• Anganwadi kids to get eggs twice a week

• Rs 5080 crore allocated for agriculture sector

• Drip irrigation facility to be provided to 35,000 farmers at 90% subsidy

• ‘Neera policy’ approved to support Coconut growers

• Bellanduru and Varthuru tanks to be comprehensively developed in 2017-18

• Additional excise on liquor abolished

• VAT on beer, wine, fenny and hard liquors has been lifted

• Completion and allotment of 3000 flats to be completed by BDA

• 5 multi-speciality hospitals to be set up in the state

• Six new medical colleges to be set up in state

• 3000buses to be inducted into BMTC

• 10.7km major arterial roads to be constructed connecting Mysuru, Magadi road

• KR Puram and Silk Board junctions will be developed in collabaration with BMRCL

• Rs 400 crore for land acquisition for B’luru- Chennai- C’durga corridor

• 10k ltr of drinking water to be provided free to slum dwellers

• Karnataka One Centre, on the lines on Bengaluru One to be set up in 9 districts

• Rs 20Cr earmarked for World Kannada Conference

• Film city to be set up in Mysuru for Kannada movie industry development

• Rs 175 cr granted for Mahamastakabhisheka at Shravanabelagola

• Bengaluru to become electronic vehicle capital of India

• Tax on two-wheelers costing above 1lakh hiked to 18% from 12%

• Grant of Rs 300 crore for development of storm water drains in B’luru

• 1000 public toilets to be created in B’luru

• 43 major road of 80km length to be white topped in Bengaluru

• Pedestrial facilities to be developed at cost of Rs 690 cr

• 12 high traffic density corridors to be developed & maintained in the city

• Entire track length of 42.3km of first phase of Namma Metro to be completed

• 25 interconnected roads in CBD area to be upgraded under Tender Sure

• Mangalore’s Wenlock Hospital to be upgraded

• Increase of 289 sq km forest area in Karnataka

• 6 lac sandalwood saplings to be raised

• 700 hectare of Sandalwood plantation to be developed instead of eucalyptus

• With 407 tigers and 6072 elephants, Karnataka stands first in the country

• 100 water bodies to be filled in deep forest to prevent animal migration

• New airports to be built in Karwar, Madikeri and Chikkamagaluru.

• Planetariums proposed in Mangaluru, Madikeri and Gadag.

• Rs 88 crore alloted for the widening of Hebbal flyover

• Cash prize for Olympic medal winners hiked to Rs 5 cr for gold, Rs 3 cr for silver and Rs 2 cr for bronze medals along with group A govt jobs.
