New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP may have been congratulated by millions for the victory in the five state polls. But, out of the million, there was one special person who congratulated Modi from Pakistan.
An eleven-year-old Aqeedath Naveed, in her two-paged letter to Modi has urged him to become harbinger of peace and win hearts of more Indians and Pakistanis as well.
The handwritten letter by Aqeedath, which also carries her passport-sized picture at the top firstly congratulates him for the UP polls results.
“Once my father told me that winning of hearts is a marvelous job. Perhaps, you have won the hearts of Indian people, therefore you have won the elections in UP. But, let me tell you, if you want to win more Indian and Pakistan hearts, you must take steps towards peace and friendship,” the letter reads and goes on to add that both countries must resolve that they will not buy bullets, but instead buy more books and that they will not buy guns, but will provide free medicines for the poor.
Aqeedat’s father Ahmed Naveed is an assistant professor in National College of Arts, Lahore.
Aqeedat studies in Class 5 at Cathedral School, Lahore while her brother Moarrikh, whose idea it was to write a letter to Modi is in Class 8 in the same school.
