K’taka cross 4 crore Covid tests, third-highest in India

Bengaluru: In the fight against the pandemic, Karnataka has tested the third-highest number of Covid-19 samples in the country, surpassing the mark of over 4 Crore tests.

Dr. K. Sudhakar tweeted, “Karnataka crossed 4 Crore Covid-19 tests marking yet another milestone in the battle against pandemic. More than 80 per cent of the tests conducted in the state are RT-PCR tests and Karnataka has tested the third highest number of samples in the entire country.”

The State has 3,338 swab collection centres, 252 Covid-19 testing facilities and 81.45 per cent of tests are RT-PCR tests.

According to the Covid-19 bulletin issued by the State Health Department, a total of 4,01,04,915 samples have been tested in the State, with 1,26,400 of those being tested on Tuesday alone.

There are 3,26,68,585 RT-PCR tests and 74,36,330 rapid-antigen detection tests among almost four crore tests performed as of last evening.
