Bengaluru: As many as 165 supporters of former minister and rebel Congress leader Ramesh Jarakiholi received IT notice for concealing their income.

According to the sources in the IT department, several supporters of Jarakiholi from Gujanala, Akkatangerahal, Ankalagi, Madaval, Dasanahalli, and Mallapur received notice from the IT department. All these villages fall under the Gokak constituency represented by Ramesh Jarakiholi.

If sources close to the former minister are to be believed, recently his supporters had bought over 200 tractors at a time. It was followed by the state government report to the IT department that 1,500 acres of land in Gokak and surrounding villages belonged to them.

“Based on these tip offs, the IT department issued the notice. As Ramesh Jarakiholi is still staying at an unknown location, his supporters are fear struck,” said sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) which is collecting details of this notice.

It can be recalled that Ramesh Jarakiholi reportedly launched rebel activities against the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state.
