Independence Day Celebrated in Gaiety at Bangalore, Mysore

Bangalore: Sixty-seventh Independence Day celebrations were held in the state capital Bangalore, Mysore, Chamarajanagar and Mandya on Thursday August 15 morning.

CM Siddaramaiah hoisted the tri-color flag and accepted the guard of honor at Manik Shah maidan at Bangalore.

The minister Srinivas Prasad hoisted the tri-color flag at Mysore University Oval sports grounds, cultural city of Mysore.

The state police and students staged colorful march-past on the occasion.  The patriotic singing and dancing programme was held on the occasion. 

Bhagat Singh Yuva Sena Samiti hoisted tri-color national flag on Wednesday August 14 midnight. The attractive display of fireworks was held on the occasion.

Jagadguru Shivaratrishwar auto rickshaw drives and owners Association worked for 15 days in creating a national flag of 3,000 feet length and that was fastened across the road in city, on Wednesday August 14 midnight to begin Independence Day celebrations.

Chamarajanagar district-in-charge minister H S Mahadevaprasad hoisted the national flag and accepted the guard of honor.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahadevaprasad said that one should be inspired by the heroism of freedom fighters.  Their selfless service, struggle for common goal should lead us to work towards nation building, said Mahadevaprasad.

The patriotic singing and folk dances were staged by the students of different schools on the occasion.

Mandya district-in-charge minister Ambarish hoisted the flag and accepted the guard of honor in Mandya town.
