Bangalore: The state administration has decided to introduce a Bill that will empower the law enforcing agencies to imprison and levy fines on those who were found to be littering the streets, spitting and urinating on public places.
The most significant Bill was introduced in Vidhan Sabha on Thursday July 25, which was the need arisen due to garbage menace in metro. If the Bill gets passed in the assembly, all those who violate the law by reckless piling, spit and urinate in public places will be jailed and had to pay fines.
As per the Bill, BBMP commissioner will issue public notice to landlords and housing societies who are entrusted the garbage disposal of waste generated in their buildings regularly.
If anyone violates the law, one should be liable to pay Rs 500 for the first offence, addition of Rs 50 for repeated offence. If in case its repeated five times, one has to be liable to pay rs 1,000 and face imprisonment for three months
