Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has suggested the petitioner Nataraj Sharma that if he wants documents regarding the Hublot watch case investigation against former CM Siddaramaiah, he can get it by applying under Right to Information Act (RTI).

Advocate Nataraj Sharma had filed a writ petition claiming, ‘without recording the statements of the complainants, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had finished the investigation and given a clean chit to Siddaramaiah. So, the court should direct the ACB to provide documents related to the investigation of the Hublot case’.

During the trial on Monday, the judicial bench questioned the petitioner, why he can’t ask the documents under RTI Act. Nataraj Sharma clarified that though he requested thrice, the respective officials didn’t consider it. So, he had to seek justice in the court.

Then the Public Prosecutor V.Shrinidhi answered that the government will consider if the petitioner applies through the RTI.

The Judicial Bench respected it and directed the ACB to consider legally if they receive an application from the applicant.
