Bengaluru: BJP State Morcha headed by Mysuru MP Pratap Simha is all set to launch its ‘Mangalore Chalo’ a bike rally demanding banning PFI, KDF and SDPI organisations, alleging that the activists of these organisations are behind the murder of Hindu activists. However, the state government has decided to take all the precautionary measures to stop the rally from entering Mangalore.
According to the sources, on Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held discussion about Mangalore Chalo with newly appointed home minister Ramalinga Reddy and advised home minister to keep an eye on developments in the coastal region.
Meanwhile, Mangalore chalo, which will start on Sunday will reach Mangalore on September 5. Youth Morcha activists from all the 30 districts of the state will reach Mangalore in bikes as part of the movement. Party state president B S Yeddyurappa will participate in the mega rally organised in the Mangalore on Sept 5.
It may be recalled that several instances of stabbing had taken place in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada over the last few months, leaving the district reeling under tension.
