Bengaluru: Amid soaring temperature, heavy rain has been reported from parts of Kodagu and Hassan districts of the state.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) data, heavy rain was reported from Madikeri, Appangala, Katakeri, Napoklu, Bhagamandala and Somwarpet areas of the Kodagu district till late Monday. “In a few areas hailstorm was also reported.

But it brought down the temperature by about 2 degree Celsius. Adding to it, it will be very useful for the coffee crop,” said IMD sources.

Arkolgod and Mallipatna hoblis in Hassan district which is close to Kodagu also received good rainfall on Monday evening. “These areas are receiving rainfall since last two days due to a number of local factors,” informed authorities.
