Bengaluru: The Lokayukta special court on Thursday granted former chief minister H D Kumaraswamyan interim bail till June 6 after he filed an Interlocutory Application, along with the anticipatory bail application in the case of illegal de-notification of one acre and 11 guntas of land in Ganganagar near Hebbal.

The Lokayukta police had registered an FIR against Kumaraswamy, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and others, on May 6. The plaint was filed by Jayakumar Hiremath stating Yeddyurappa had de-notified land under notification. The land was later purchased by Kumaraswamy’s mother-in-law Vimala, and again, sold to her son T Channappa.

The Lokayukta special court directed the public prosecutor for Lokayukta police to file objections to the anticipatory bail application by June 6. The Lokayukta FIR stated that the original land owner, Rajashekaraiah, had first filed the application for de-notification of his land in survey numbers 7/1/B, 7/1/C and 7/1/D in February 2007, when Kumara-swamy was chief minister. The officials raised objections saying the land was part of the notification issued in March 1976 to form Mattadahalli Layout. The file was kept in abeyance and in June 2010 Yeddyurappa had ordered for its de-notification.
