Bengaluru: With less than to 25 days left for the world famous Shravanabelagola Mahamastakabhisheka, the State government has transferred Hassan Deputy Commissioners (DC) DC Rohini Sindhuri Dasari.

It can be recalled that Hassan District-in-Charge Minister A Manju and other Congress leaders were at loggerheads with Rohini over various issues. During CM Siddaramaiah’s recent visit to the district, local Congress leaders had demanded her transferred in open.

This had kicked off a political battle of words when JDS MLA H.D.Revanna alleged that the government is trying to transfer the Deputy Commissioner by putting pressure as she is not allowing any misappropriations in the funds released for Sharavanabelagola Mastakabhisheka. However, many have objected the transfer of Rohini, when the countdown has been started for the big event in the district.

Haveri DC M V Venkatesh will be the new DC of Hassan. Rohini has been appointed as the Karnataka State Industry and Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director.

Besides Rohini, six other senior IAS officers have been transferred. M V Jayanti will be the new head of Karnataka Appellate Tribunal (KAT). V. Chaithra will be the new Labour Department Commissioner, S.B.Shettannavar will be the new Haveri Deputy Commissioner, Rajendra will be the new DC of Ramanagara. Dr. B R Mamata will be the new commissioner, Food and Civil Supply Department.
