Govt to go in for alternate sources of power : DK Shivakumar

Anekal : With the power problem in the state worsening owing to failure of  monsoons, the government   will think of alternate means of power generation. The Solar 2014-2021 policy has therefore been implemented, said Energy Minister DK Shivakumar.

Speaking at a seminar organised at the Electronic City in the outskirts of the city the minister said the Solar Policy introduced for the first time aims at sensitising the people on the benefits of solar power.

He also said the government was ready to purchase solar power  for Rs 9.56 per unit.
