Govt to collect money due to sugarcane farmers from factory owners

Bangalore : Minister for cooperatives, H S Mahadevprasad said that the govt has already ordered district commissioners to take strict action against 18 factories who have not paid the money due to the farmers.

Notice has been sent to those who are yet to give the money. Though the process of bidding money will be collected from the factories. We will never protect or support the owners, he said in the assembly.
Factory owners had questioned in the high court regarding the price fixed by the govt. But the court has decided to solve the matter through mutual consultations. However the owners have not agreed to it, he said.

Govt has already given 398 crores out of 574 crores in the month of February. The department has also agreed to give remaining 186 crore.
