Bengaluru: Transport department principal secretary B Basavaraju has informed that the state government is considering the proposal of banning the entry of private vehicles into the Central Business District (CBD) of the city.

Speaking at an event in the city, he stated that this proposal is under serious consideration of the state government.

It can be recalled that the CBD is worst hit by traffic congestion due to the heavy flow of vehicles, especially the private vehicles.

He also informed that the state government is considering allowing only two vehicles per family in the city limits. “The vehicle population is growing at a fast pace. To ensure that the city roads are not burdened further, the state government is considering the proposal of limiting 2 vehicles per family,” he said.
