Bengaluru: Governor Vajubai Vala has reportedly questioned the State government’s decision to appoint Justice S R Nayak as the new Lokayukta of the state.

This development might lead to more time in reviving the office of Lokayukta which is already weakened with the creation of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
According to sources, the Governor cannot reject the government’s proposal, but he can send his objections.

Two opposition leaders Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa, Chief Justice of the High Court?S?K?Mukherjee and Council Chairman D?H?Shankaramurthy had recommended Justice Vikramjit Sen for the post.
