Gov Bharadwaj urges Medicos to serve in Rural Villages

Bangalore: The Governor Bharadwaj urged the medicos to compulsorily serve at least a minimum of one to two years in the rural villages. 

Addressing the gathering at Raj Bhavan after distributing NSS awards,Governor Bharadwaj said that the people in remote villages are suffering from various diseases and lack consulting services and proper medication.The newly-qualified medicos if served in remote villages in their early career can achieve significant in their later lives.It also serves gives them opportunity to serve the peasants and poor.If the rural India is empowered, the entire nation will be prospered.  Therefore, the need to lay higher emphasis on rural development, said Governor Bharadwaj.

The state government has come forward to enact laws in this regard. The medicos should take the lead voluntarily to serve in the rural villages before the law binds them to do so.The situation of peasants and laborers need to be improved, if not jealousy among the poor and rich will lead to social unrest, address Governor Bharadwaj.

“There is greater need for rural development,” said Governor Bharadwaj.NSS volunteers can play vital role in rural development that ought to be choice of volunteers to be engaged in national building.  Mahatma Gandhi envisioned of prosperous rural India,’ said Governor Bharadwaj.  He also lauded NSS volunteers’ yeomen service in Karnataka.
