Bengaluru: There was a sudden spike in fish prices in the city on Wednesday, November 14, following the restarting in supply of fish from Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada to Goa.

On Tuesday, the Goa government withdrew the ban order imposed on the import of fish from these two coastal districts of the state. This order was imposed in the month of July. But since the last week, there was a sudden dip in fish prices as the Goan authorities started implementing the order strictly.

According to the order, all licensed fish traders are allowed to buy fish from Karnataka. The traders are directed to ensure that the fish bought will not have any traces of formalin.
