Bangalore : State Governor HR Bharadwaj has stressed the need to offer greater employment opportunities for ex-servicemen in government owned undertakings. Their services should be utilised to the fullest extent, he said.
Participating in the Flag Day celebrations organised by Soldiers Welfare Department here, he said “Our Army men have sacrificed much for their motherland. It is our duty to recognise their services and give them opportunities.”
Referring to the recent attack on a bank officer Jyothi Uday at a Corporation Bank ATM in the capital, the Governor said he was satisfied with the investigations done by the police to crack the case. The Police Commissioner and DGP are in constant touch with me, he added.
He said the investigation was on the right track though there has been a delay in the arrest of the culprit. As the accused is a man from another state, tracking him down has become a tough task. The arrest would be easier if there is good co-operation and exchange of information between police officials of neighbouring states, the Governor further said.
