Bengaluru: Kavita Lankesh, sister of slain activist, journalist Gauri Lankesh has rejected the claims of US-based self-styled cyber expert and hacker that Gauri was killed because she was planning to write an article on the hacking of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Syed Shuja, a US- based cyber expert had said he had met Lankesh and that is when she said that she wanted the article on EVM to be published in her weekly.

“I am aware of it and I think it is completely false. I don’t think it is true at all. I don’t know why it was said like this. I don’t believe my sister was targeted for that at all,” Kavita is quoted in Bangalore Mirror.

Lankesh was shot dead on September 5, 2017 evening outside her house and the police arrested 16 people, who are said to be having connections with right-wing organisation Sanathan Samstha.
