Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of the activist and journalist Gauri Lankesh confirmed that it was Parashuram Vagmore who fired at Gauri on the fateful night of September 5.

According to the sources, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) used the gait analysis to find out who fired at Gauri near her house at the Rajarajeshwarinagar.

The Gait report reached the Special Investigation Team (SIT) authorities on Monday, September 3, where it was confirmed that Vagmore, a former member of Sri Ram Sene shot her.

Gait is clinically useful with videotape slow-motion replay and freeze-frame, offering significant improvement over unaided visual observation.

According to the authorities, for the first time, Gait technology was used in any criminal case.
