Thiruvananthapuram: The proposal of implementing online booking systems to control devotees visiting Sabarimala is apocryphal said, the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) on Monday, 3 September.

A large number of devotees start to walk from the bank of river Pampa to Sabarimala to seek the blessings of lord Aiyyappa every year.

Due to heavy rain this year, the Pampa river has eroded completely. As a result, controlling the devotees has become a troublesome task, sources from TDB said.

In order to control the number of devotees, the Police Department has recently requested the Government to start online booking for the devotees visiting Sabarimala.

“A team of workers have already taken up the work of cleaning the banks of river Pampa, everything will get back to normal soon and there is no need to initiate online booking process to control the devotees,” said, Padmakumar, President of Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).
