Bangalore :Speaker Kagodu Timmappa has said that  the foreign tours of MLAs henceforth should be subject based instead of being mere fun tours.

Speaking to the media here, Timmappa said no pleasure tours abroad will be allowed henceforth for MLAs. The tours will be permitted if they are based  on some subject and are study oriented, he made it clear.

He said such a step has been taken based on the recommendations of a committee formed to look into the foreign tour issue.

Kagodu said the assembly session should be conducted in a meaningful manner and added the session will not be adjourned even if a condolence motion is passed.
