Bengaluru: Fed up by the cold response of the BBMP on their persistent appeals to repair the road, residents of Horamavu layout in Ramamurthy layout ward number 26 repaired Kanakagiri main road by pooling money themselves.

As the BBMP is not ready to take up repair works of any roads in the vicinity, the locals reportedly decided to do the work themselves, without banking on the BBMP.

According to the locals, the road was damaged due to the recent rains. As they found it difficult to drive any vehicles or walk on the road, they urged the BBMP to repair the same.

When their requests fell on deaf ears, they decided to pool money and repair the road.

A local charitable trust by name Shanta Krishnamurthy Foundation came forward to help the locals. Till now the locals repaired one and half kilometers of road by spending Rs.1.25 lakhs.

According to the locals, now as the term of the elected representatives concluded, no one may come for their help. Locals also joined the works to ensure that repair works will be completed without much expenses.
