Bengaluru: One of the fears expressed by people across the state is that the COVID 19 now reached stage 3: the community spread.
The central government is vehemently denying it. However, in Karnataka, the state government has formed a committee to study the phenomenon and submit a report in this regard.
The committee’s details and the reference parameters have not disclosed though.
Revenue minister R Ashok who has been hand-picked by CM BS Yediyurappa to lead the city’s response to the rise in COVID 19 cases, informed that this committee is expected to submit a report on whether community transmission of the COVID 19 virus has started in the state especially in the Bengaluru region.
“There is an apprehension among the public. This committee will find an answer to this,” he said.
According to sources, in Karnataka, around 26% of the COVID 19 patients have no travel history or contacts of the COVID 19 patients. “This has raised several questions,” explained R Ashok.
The report is expected to help the state government to finalize its strategy to contain the spread of the COVID 19.
