Bangalore: The farmers who gave up their land for the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC), will stage a protest, once again here on Wednesday, June 25

After the demonstration held by farmers affected parts of Bangalore on Monday June 23, a press conference was called by the farmers associated with a forum for those who lost their land to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Limited (NICE).
Addressing the media they stated that they were yet to get the promised sites from the State government despite a 10-year wait.
While over 5,000 farmers have been affected, more than 25,000 farmers are expected to take part in a protest.
“The government resolved after meeting with us in 2004 that we would be given 60 x 40 sites for every acre of land that we gave up. But not a single farmer has been allotted sites,” they said.
